Introducing Braulia Nortes: Passionate Fashion Designer and Creative Visionary for Sustainable fashion.
Born in Brazil and raised with a deep love for fashion, Braulia Nortes has always had an innate talent for design and a keen eye for detail. From a young age, Braulia Nortes began sketching fashion ideas, honing her skills and nurturing her creative spirit.
With a determined spirit, Braulia Nortes embarked on her fashion journey while working at a fabric retail store in downtown Santo André city, Brazil. There, she had the opportunity to design for clients who purchased fabric from the store, showcasing her talent and dedication to the craft. As a single mother, Braulia worked tirelessly to provide for her two small children, demonstrating her strength and resilience.
In the 90s, Braulia Nortes took a leap of faith and pursued a career as a professional model with Ford Models. This allowed her to travel the world, collaborating with renowned designers such as Eyes Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, and many others. As her daughters grew up and started their own families, Braulia returned to her true passion: fashion design.
In 2013, Braulia enrolled in Fullerton College, where she excelled in classes on fashion design, draping, pattern making, and clothing construction. Her creativity and attention to detail propelled her to the top of her class, and she even had the opportunity to contribute to the fashion showcase at Fullerton College by presenting a complete garments that she designed and made herself.
Never one to rest on her laurels, Braulia Nortes continued to expand her skill set by joining OCC College in Costa Mesa, California in 2023. There, she deepened her expertise in fashion illustration and Photoshop, further refining her ability to bring her designs to life. Once again, Braulia stood out as a top performer in her class, showcasing her unmatched creativity and meticulousness in every project.
With a unique blend of experience, talent, and a relentless pursuit of excellence, Braulia Nortes continues her search to make a mark in the fashion industry. Her designs are a testament to her passion and her unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. My Design Process
Braulia Nortes design process is deeply rooted in nature. She finds inspiration in the colors and motifs found in the natural world, which form the basis of her creative journey. To kickstart her process, Braulia often begins with a visit to a museum, a fabric store, or takes a walk on the beach or goes hiking to observe the beauty of nature firsthand.
During these explorations, Braulia immerses herself in the sights and sounds of her surroundings, allowing inspiration to come naturally. She pays close attention to the vibrant hues, intricate patterns, and organic shapes found in plants, animals, and landscapes. These observations serve as the foundation for her design concepts.
Sustainability is also a key aspect of Braulia's design philosophy. She prioritizes the use of textiles made from natural fibers, such as organic cotton, linen, and hemp.
